Anthropic
Nine chapters you work through against the Claude API rather than watch: basic prompt structure, assigning a role, separating instructions from data, controlling output format, step-by-step reasoning, few-shot examples and prompt chaining. Every chapter ends in an exercise you have to make pass, so the skill sticks.
DeepLearning.AI
Built with OpenAI and taught by Andrew Ng and Isa Fulford. About an hour and forty minutes of video paired with a live notebook, organised around two principles: write clear, specific instructions, and give the model room to reason. The worked tasks cover summarising, inferring, transforming, expanding and a small chatbot build.
Google (Coursera)
Four modules built around a repeatable prompt formula: state the task, supply context, name the persona, give a reference and set the format. It then drills the loop of evaluating an answer and revising the prompt, applied to everyday work such as drafting, summarising long documents and preparing for a meeting.
Vanderbilt (Coursera)
The longest free-to-audit option here, and the one that goes deepest. It teaches a vocabulary of prompt patterns, including persona, question refinement, cognitive verifier, few-shot, template and menu actions, that transfers between models instead of being tied to one chatbot.
Udemy
Udemy hosts a rotating set of free one- to three-hour introductions, useful for a quick orientation before committing time to a longer course. Free Udemy courses do not issue a certificate; that only ships with the paid catalogue, so treat these as learning rather than a credential.
