# Channel Program and Routes to Market: How Iternal Sells

> How partners join Iternal and get portal access, the three routes to market, how deal registration protects a deal, and where partner marketing funds come from.

Channel Program & Routes to Market

# How Is the Channel Program Structured
and What Are the Routes to Market?

Joining and portal access, the three ways a transaction reaches Iternal, how deal
registration protects an opportunity, what the program costs, and where marketing
funds actually come from.

Built from real buyer questions in our sales meetings

Two phrases run through almost every partner conversation Iternal has: *deal
registration* and *MDF*. Both are mechanics, and mechanics either exist in
writing or they do not. A partner weighing a quarter of pre-sales time against a new
software line needs the plumbing, not the positioning.

Direct Answer

**Iternal is channel-first by design, and the front door is deliberately light.**
Joining starts with the register-as-a-partner form on iternal.ai, which captures a point of
contact rather than a signature, then an emailed portal signup link and an initiation
session, all at no cost. Three routes carry a transaction: distribution, which most
resellers use and through which Iternal moves its full portfolio; a direct partner contract
where volume or geography argues for it; and referral of inbound website leads to the
best-suited partner.

**The limit: parts of the program are still being written down.**
Iternal publishes no provisioning process yet for giving a partner its own portal account,
the submit-for-approval control inside the portal sits where most users miss it, whether an
AI PC upsell rides along on the same deal registration was left open, and no policy yet
defines whether a reseller may resell onward. Marketing funds carry a structural limit
rather than a procedural one: Iternal does not control partner MDF and can make
introductions only.

**Settle four things in writing before you spend pre-sales time.** Which system
holds the registration of record, how long a registration protects the opportunity, which
agreement you sign when you transact — Iternal carries a reseller agreement and a
master relationship agreement — and which route your orders take, because the route
decides which incentive buckets you reach. The
[questions below](#deal-registration) are written to be answered on paper.

**Program mechanics and partner economics are separate questions.** Joining,
routes, registration, program cost and funds are the mechanics. For more information on how an
offer is built and where the money lands, visit the
[packaging and pricing
page](https://iternal.ai/jobs/build-an-ai-practice/packaging-pricing-and-margin); for the paperwork behind a transaction, visit the

## Becoming a Partner: The Path to Portal Access

Most software companies gate the front door with paper. Iternal gates it with a form,
asking partners to register a point of contact rather than sign an agreement, so a
reseller can start building an offering while the contract work happens alongside the
first opportunity. Five steps take a partner from cold to credentialed:

1. Register the point of contact. The register-as-a-partner form on
iternal.ai captures who owns the relationship on your side. No agreement required.
1. Take the portal signup link. Iternal emails it; access opens with a
work email and the eight-digit code sent to that address, at no cost.
1. Sit the initiation session. A live walkthrough of the account
research tool and the blueprint program, both reached through the partner program
site.
1. Co-brand what your customers see. Resellers get a partner portal
carrying their own logo, and signup links can be branded for the OEM or the
distributor.
1. Sign paper when you transact. Iternal carries a reseller agreement
and a master relationship agreement; which applies depends on how you sell.

**What is still hardening.** Provisioning has no published process, the
partner single sign-on portal does not yet appear on the public website, and the
submit-for-approval button is hidden well enough that most users miss it. Deeper
blueprint access is unlocked person by person. Ask for named owners: those gaps are
operational, not architectural.

Pin it down: questions for your evaluation

- Who provisions our portal accounts, and how do we add a seller next quarter without emailing a person?
Whether portal access scales with your team or depends on a manual favor each time.
- Which agreement applies to us, and what triggers signing it?
What your legal team reviews, and when, rather than while an opportunity is already moving.

## Three Routes to Market: Distribution, Direct and Referral

Iternal was built channel-first from day one and treats distribution and channel
activation as its moat rather than its software. For a partner the question is
narrower than strategy: which pipe does my transaction travel, and what does that pipe
give back?

| Route | How it works | Where it fits |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Through distribution | A global distributor is the primary route and most resellers transact through it. Iternal moves its full portfolio, custom solutions included, through distribution, works with more than one distributor and signs exclusivity with none. Distribution receives preferred pricing that reselling partners do not. | The default. Paperwork, credit and billing are solved, and the distributor can validate the hardware behind your deal. |
| Direct partner contract | Available where a partner prefers it. Iternal sells some direct, very minimally, and direct contracts happen depending on volume and geography. | Large volume, or a territory where your distributor cannot transact. |
| Referral | Iternal routes inbound website leads to the best-suited partner rather than working them, and prefers inbound orders to land with its core distributor. | Building presence in a vertical or region before you carry pipeline of your own. |

One variant sits inside the first row: buying under an OEM part number rather than the
software part number. The same product reaches the customer, but purchasing through the
Dell SKU opens access to Dell MDF and rebates for the distributor, and Iternal runs both
routes together as the formula that works. Choose by the incentive buckets you are
trying to hit, then hold that choice steady.

## Deal Registration: Who Gets Credit and What Is Protected

Deal registration is the channel promise that survives a bad quarter. Register early
and the opportunity carries your name through pricing and close; register late and
somebody else is quoting your customer.

### What the record captures, and who is told

A registration filed through distribution captures the shape of the opportunity:
company size, decision makers, timeline, budget and objectives, plus the hardware
service tag that identifies the reselling partner. The default view shows budget and
software without unit counts, so hardware attach is worth confirming separately.
Notification routes to the partner manager at the reseller, who can be assigned to the
record, with the Iternal partner management team copied. Filing pays a partner back in
account research rather than costing reps data entry.

### Which system holds the record

Read the two instruments together. Iternal account research sits *ahead* of
registration: it surfaces partner intent early and shows Iternal what its partners are
working, without granting preferential treatment. The registration that protects the
opportunity is the one filed with your distributor or the OEM, and for partners opened
up to the portal at the top tier, filing through the distributor is the condition of
access. Nobody in the market handles multi-partner registration well today, so where
two routes touch one customer, settle the boundary with people rather than software.

Pin it down: questions for your evaluation

- Which system is the registration of record, and who confirms in writing that ours was accepted?
Whether your submission protects the deal or only informs the people watching it.
- How long does a registration protect an opportunity, and what renews it?
The protection window on paper. Proposals have ranged widely, so only your own program answer is worth planning against.
- If an AI PC or other hardware upsell rides along, is it on the same registration?
Whether the attach revenue you are counting on earns credit under that record.
- May we resell onward to another reseller, and on what terms?
Whether a sub-distribution route is open to you, since no policy defines it today.

## What the Program Costs You: Iternal and the Distributor, Counted Separately

Partners ask whether the portal is free more often than they ask what it does. The two
programs behind a channel transaction charge differently, so count them separately.

### The Iternal partner program

Portal access is free and onboarding costs nothing. General use-case exploration comes
with unlimited credits, while deeper blueprint deliverables run on an annual
subscription carrying credits, priced separately for high-level exploration and for
deep dives. Iternal is candid about why the entry tier is free: it receives the account
intelligence in return. It may charge eventually, so treat today's price as a decision
rather than a permanent property of the program.

### Distributor programs

Distributors generally do not charge partners to join their communities, and in some
cases charge for neither services nor custom finance programs. What comes free is
substantial: a named account manager, service levels the distributor competes on,
hardware validation behind your deal, monthly payment structures, and enablement
programs built to move a reseller from curiosity to a working AI practice. The real
cost is your calendar, since partners have picked those pathways up more slowly than
distributors planned for.

## Marketing Funds: Where They Come From and What a Claim Needs

**The structural fact first, because it changes who you ask.** Iternal
does not control partner market development funds and can only make the introductions.
MDF is money you earn through the hardware and silicon programs you already sell, yours
to spend where you choose, and earned from every manufacturer in your portfolio.

**What qualifies.** Demand generation is the test that governs approval.
Partners may spend MDF on the AI Blueprint Builder where it drives revenue and demand;
some have used those funds to unlock blueprints they then sell as services
implementation. Promotional campaigns, marketing and AirgapAI training have been funded
through OEM and silicon MDF, and jointly proposed campaigns get funded to an extent
— the practical shape of an introduction Iternal can make for you.

**The claim mechanics that catch partners out.** Claim start dates must
match actual execution, because review surfaces activity that ran before approval
landed, and approved activities carry tight execution windows. Reimbursement runs
quarterly at a minimum, which quietly sets the cadence of what you can afford to run.
Calling your shot in an annual plan earns a larger allocation and commits you to
deliver against it.

FAQ

## FAQ: Joining, Routes, Registration and Funds

Start with the register-as-a-partner form on iternal.ai, which captures a point of contact rather than a signature. Iternal emails a portal signup link; access opens with a work email plus the eight-digit code sent to it, at no cost. An initiation session covers the account research tool and the blueprint program. Provisioning is the rough edge: no published process yet gives a partner its own portal account.

A registration filed through distribution captures company size, decision makers, timeline, budget and objectives, plus the hardware service tag identifying the reselling partner. Notification routes to the partner manager at the reseller, who can be assigned to the record, with the Iternal partner management team copied. Iternal account research sits ahead of registration and grants no preferential treatment on its own — the record that protects the opportunity is filed with your distributor or the OEM.

Both, weighted heavily to the channel. Iternal was built channel-first from day one, sells only a very small amount direct, and routes inbound website leads to the best-suited partner. A global distributor is the primary route and most resellers transact through it; a direct partner contract is available where volume or geography argues for it. Iternal signs exclusivity with no distributor.

Distributors generally do not charge partners to join their communities. The Iternal partner portal is free and onboarding costs nothing, because Iternal receives the account intelligence in return; deeper blueprint deliverables run on an annual subscription carrying credits.

Yes, where the activity drives revenue and demand: MDF covers the AI Blueprint Builder as a demand-generation tool, and partners have used it to unlock blueprints they then sell as services implementation. The money comes from the hardware and silicon programs you already sell, since Iternal does not control partner MDF and can only make introductions. Claim start dates must match actual execution, and reimbursement runs quarterly at a minimum.

No policy defines it today. In practice Iternal has told partners they can sell to whoever they want, that the motion normally becomes a distribution play, and that it will price to the go-to-market a partner describes. Bring the model you intend to run and get the terms in writing first.

## Ask for the Program on Paper

A channel program is worth exactly what a partner can hold someone to. Take the four
open items into your first program call — portal provisioning, the registration
of record, the protection window and onward-resale terms — and ask for them in
writing alongside the agreement. Iternal built the program channel-first; paper is
where intention becomes a plan your finance team can use.
